I am here again with a new informative pattern for you all....  guess what...its Maxi Top which is in these days..... How good it will be if you can make it all by yourself.....

SIZE 
  • SMALL
SCALE
  • 1:5
MEASUREMENT


  • Full Length : 50"
  • Bodice Length : 13.5"
  • Bottom Length : 36.5"
  • Bust : 32"
  • Waist : 26"
  • Hip : 36"
  • Shoulder : 13.5"

CALCULATION
  • BUST  = {BUST + 2" (Ease)}/4 = (32+2)/4 =8.5"
  • WAIST  = {WAIST + 2"(Ease)}/4 =(26+2)/4 =7"
  • HIP = {HIP + 2"(Ease)}/4=(36+3)/4 = 9.75" 

STEPS

BODICE
  • AB is ONFOLD & AB= 13.5 (length of Bodice)
  • AC = 6.75"
  • BG = 6.75" (Shoulder of Bodice)
  • AB = CG
  • CH=CG-1"
  • CD = 8.5" (Bust of Bodice) (32+2=34, 34/4=8.5)
  • EF = 7" (Waist of Bodice) (26+2=28, 28/4 =7)
  • From B mark 0.5" & mark it as I. 
  • IHD is for Back Shoulder & IGD is for Front Shoulder. Join  them with Curved   lines as shown in above figure.  
BOTTOM (FRONT)
  • PT = 36.5" (Length) (*It is not ONFOLD, as we need front slit)
  • PV = 2" = PT (Margin)
  • VQ = 7" (Waist)
  • XS = 9.75" (Hip) 
  • WU = 10.5"
BOTTOM (BACK) 
  • JN = 36.5" (Length) (*It is ONFOLD)
  • JK = 7" (Waist)
  • LM = 9.75" (Hip) 
  • NO = 10.5"

Last time i shared basic bodice block,today's pattern is the extended form of it.......draft of straight dress along with the dress that I made using this pattern.... 



SIZE 
  • SMALL

SCALE 
  • (1:5)

MEASUREMENT 
  • Length : 36"
  • Bust : 32"
  • Waist : 26"
  • Hip : 36"
  • Dart : 10.5"
  • Shoulder : 13.5"
CALCULATION
  • BUST (CH in Fig.) = {BUST + 2" (Ease)}/4 = (32+2)/4 =8.5"
  • WAIST (DI in Fig.) = {WAIST + 2"(Ease)}/4 =(26+2)/4 =7"
  • HIP (EJ in Fig.) = {HIP + 2"(Ease)}/4=(36+3)/4 = 9.75" 

* Ease can vary from 2" to 4" depending upon how  fit garment you want, for fitted dress min. 2" reqd. & for loose fit 3" to 4" would be sufficient.

STEPS 
  • AB, the length of dress,its onfold & measures 36" (margin is not included in pattern)
  • From A mark C as AC = 6.5" = FG
  • From A mark D as AD = 13.5"
  • Again from A mark AE as AE = 21"
  • AF=CG=6.75"
  • AM=PO=3.5"
  • CH =8.5" (BUST)
  • DI = 7" (WAIST)
  • EJ = 9.75" (HIP)
  • BK = 11"
  • MQ=AV=10.5" (DART POINT/APEX)
  • QV = 3.5"
  • QR = 9"
  • SU=UT=0.5"
  • LG=1"
  • FN=0.5"
*Join FLH and FGH with curved line where FGH is Back shoulder & FLH is Front Shoulder.
*MOP is Round Neckline, you can make any shape of neckline.

This is my first post & i will share my sewing patterns....I learned sewing when i was in high school & since then i just love sewing & improved a lot with trial & error.... i will try to share whatever i have learnt as simply as i can ,

I am going start with Bodice Pattern as its the most important 
basic pattern. 

Size : 
  • Small

Measurement : 
  • Bodice Length -- 13.5"
  • Bust -- 32"
  • Dart Point -- 10.5" 
  • Waist -- 26"
  • Shoulder -- 13.5"
  • Front Neck -- 6"
  • Back Neck -- 5"
Calculation : 
  • Bust = (Bust + 2")/4  
  • Waist = (Waist + 2")/4



Steps :
  1. AB is ONFOLD & AB= 13.5 (length of Bodice)
  2. AC = 6.75"
  3. AD = 6.75" (Shoulder of Bodice)
  4. AD = CG
  5. CH=CG-1"
  6. CE = 8.5" (Bust of Bodice) (32+2=34, 34/4=8.5)
  7.  BF = 7" (Waist of Bodice) (26+2=28, 28/4 =7)
  8.  AI = 3.5"(Neck Width)(Depends upon Broadness of neck, ( 3"          to 4.5")
  9.  From D mark 0.5" & mark it as K. Join IK.
  10.  KG is for Back Shoulder & KH is for Front Shoulder. Join  them with Curved lines as shown in above figure.  
  11.  From AD go downwards 10.5" & mark it as L ( Apex, Dart  Point).
  12.  From B mark M as BM= 3.5".
  13.  MO = MN = 0.5".
  14.  Join LM ,LN & LO.
